Platform Pillars
Budget & Fiscal Policy : I will continue to support transparent, efficient budgeting that prioritizes equal access to financial resources and funding opportunities; support proposals to balance the tax system, close loopholes, and invest in our communities; support resolutions that empower small businesses, job creation, and workforce development; continue to advocate for common sense practices that emphasize transparent budgets that improve accountability and focuses on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and prioritizing essential services with measurable outcomes.
Public Health & Social Services : I will continue to support the expansion of public health initiatives, mental health services, and health equity, increase access to affordable care and social services in our communities. Strongly support initiatives that directly impact maternal health, chronic and transferable diseases, and preventative care.
Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform : I will continue to advocate for accountable policing practices, pursue alternatives to long term jail holds, support the ongoing review of court costs/fees, and increase investments in crisis intervention; and advocate for more transparent and consistent practices across judicial systems to better protect victims and their families.
Housing & Development : I will continue to advocate for the acceleration of affordable, energy-efficient housing; reform zoning to meet current community needs; support sustainable procedures that protect homeowner and tenant rights; reimagine vacant lots and dilapidated spaces to promote living spaces that reflect transit-oriented growth.
Regional Collaboration : I will continue to strengthen local, intergovernmental, union, and external partnerships; to improve services, directly address infrastructure, expand flood resilience, improve road and highway conditions, enhance transportation networks, and increase cultural investments.
Community Engagement & Participation : I will continue to empower community stakeholders by encouraging public participation, providing educational workshops, creative initiatives, and hosting virtual and in-person town halls to ensure everyone in the 5th District has access to county resources, receives the direct assistance necessary to utilize the resources, and are able to see results.
